All That Is Lost And Found is an imagination of a post-human era and a mythology surrounding three beings of fate. The Planter, Collector, and Keeper are charged with the recreation of a new world — each tasked with a role that address part of the life cycle and legacy of their environment.
The Characters have been created as visual representations of our observations and anxieties about the future world and the nature that will exist long after our species does. They embody qualities such as animalism, nature, fantasy, folklore, and surrealism and are made with a multitude of materials. All That is Lost and Found casts our hopes and fears into beings to create a new story of survival.
This project is a character based multimedia suite of sculptures, performance, stop motion animation and video that developed out of an initial research idea and creation for NEXTFEST 2018. Several trips into Southern Alberta, and a whole lot of learning and hand sewing later, All That Is Lost and Found has exhibited in several venues and festivals throughout Canada. The full length video is 15 minutes and often accompanied by live performance on site. We would like to thank the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Dc3 Art Projects, all of our collaborative performers, friends and family for their support during this ever evolving project.
